Join us for a compassionate and practical session with Emma Hodgson from Positive Pathways, exploring how we can better understand and support tamariki who experience the world differently and may find everyday demands overwhelming.
This session gently draws on insights often associated with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)—a profile recognised within the autism spectrum—while embracing a neuroaffirming approach that honours each child’s unique needs and strengths.
Emma Hodgson brings both lived experience and a wealth of knowledge. She shares real, practical strategies that support regulation, connection, and communication—at home, at school, and in everyday life. Her empowering and down-to-earth approach makes these sessions engaging and relatable for anyone supporting tamariki.
Many whānau in our community have described behaviours that align with PDA-like experiences—including strong resistance to demands, intense emotional responses, or sudden shutdowns. Whether you’re just beginning to explore these patterns or have been navigating them for some time, you’re warmly invited to learn, reflect, and connect.
✨ Come along to learn, share, and be inspired.
